ABOUT

I am Soroush, a photographer dedicated to documenting the raw beauty of nature and the wildlife that call it home. I find myself mesmerized by the interplay of light, color, and detail; from the intricate textures in a songbird’s feathers to the harmonious dance of the aurora. Driven by a passion to travel great distances to record the serenades of our breathtaking planet, my vision was recently celebrated by Canon Canada, who selected one of my images as one of 100 featured works for the Canon Creator Lab 10th Anniversary Photo Book.

My work is rooted in a deep curiosity and a commitment to advocate for the protection of our environment. This path is a deliberate pivot from my previous life. For nearly 20 years, I worked as a professional engineer across various industrial sectors, where I frequently bore witness to the irreversible damage that unsustainable human activity imposes on our ecosystems.

The conflict of maintaining a stable career while being associated with the degradation of my primary refuge finally pushed me toward a pivot to my true calling. I moved beyond the daily commutes, work emails and Teams calls to the profound stillness of the wild and the sensory details of the outdoors: listening to the subtle shifts in wind, watching for the flick of a wing, and breathing in the freshness that an untouched landscape provides. I now dedicate my time to observing and learning about nature’s ‘why’; an indescribable feeling of presence that I strive to convey into every image I capture.
